The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, came into existence on September 25, 1912. Each year, the organization announces a different theme so that pharmaceutical industry associations and individuals can organize national campaigns or local projects to showcase the good work they do to help improve people's health. This could include giving lectures, holding exhibitions, or organizing a day of activities for adults and children to show off the many ways a pharmacy can help them.
The purpose of World Pharmacists Day is to encourage activities that promote pharmacists in improving health in every corner of the world. Pharmacists are the reason why people get the best from their medicines, they give access to medicines, advise people on how to properly take them and so much more. Celebrating this day also reminds us of the role of pharmacists in the development of safe and effective medicines and vaccines, thereby supporting people's lives.
