About the Course:

Pharm D or Doctor of Pharmacy is one of the new courses offered in Indian Pharmaceutical Education. The duration of the course is six academic years (Five years of study and one year of internship or residency). It Is Affiliated By Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai And Approved From Pharmacy Council Of India New Delhi. For the pharmacist, the opportunities exist in hospital Pharmacy, Academics, Clinical Trials, Drug Monitoring Services, and so on. 

ELIGIBILITY:

No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the Ist Pharm.D degree Course until he/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

Candidates belonging to all categories except Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes for admission to the Pharm.D degree course must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks. Not less than 50% aggregate marks in the above subjects are mandatory at the qualifying examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study i.e. 10+2 pattern of education.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks and not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects.

A pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories for admission to the course

REGULATIONS OF PHARM D. & PHARM D. (POST-BACCALAUREATE) COURSE

IN exercise of the powers conferred by Section 44 of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, Act, 1987 (Tamil Nadu Act 37 of 1987), the Standing Academic Board of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai hereby makes the following. The duration of the course shall be six academic years (Five years of study and one year of internship or residency).
